Here are some things you might want to know about:

FCC GREENLIGHTS ZONECASTING
The FCC’s November meeting included a unanimous vote to permit stations to permanently geotarget areas served by boosters (up to 25 boosters) with up to three minutes of locally originated programming like news, weather, advertising, etc, that is separate from the main station.

FILING DEADLINES
As usual, there are filing deadlines that might affect you. December 2nd is the deadline to upload the annual EEO online Public File Report for stations in AL, CO, CT, GA, ME, MA, MN, MT, NH, ND, RI, SD, and VT. Some stations, with over 11 fulltime employees in CO, MN, MT, ND, and SD also may be part of a larger FCC review. Furthermore, the stations in the 2nd 2024 EEO Audit need to upload their responses to that. For DTV stations, there is also the Annual DTV Ancillary/Supplementary Services Report. December 3rd starts a freeze for TV stations during the Window for Non-commercial TV stations that opens for a week on December 4th. And, for those LPFMs in MX situations, amendment filings are due December 15th.

OK .. this Thursday is Thanksgiving and many folks are going to be eating the Turkey and watching football. Nevertheless, we will be live as usual at 2PM Eastern. The plan is to start with WKRP – and perhaps its most famous episode – and chat about other TV series and films set in radio stations. Which ones do you remember?
